So I saw the film when it came out. I actually didn't think much of it - it was good i suppose, but a little overhyped. I think I'm just not a fan of 3 hour films! But I started reading the book last week, and actually, though a bit wordy, i wish the x-comics were more like this. I've noticed that the art work in the novel actually mean something (for example, the new silk spectre begins smoking while visiting her mother, and the mother starts opening a bunch of windows and coughing until she stops). There's no words needed and it brings more depth to the characters. I think these days the artwork in the x-comics has become quite blah when it comes to storytelling. There's nothing in the pictures that wouldn't be communicated across to the readers that the text doesn't give. What do people think? Did anyone watch the film? And if anyone has read the book, how do you think it compares to the x-comics?
