How I Draw Psylocke
« Thread started on: Jun 9th, 2009, 8:17pm » |

Well I dont know if this has been posted on here, but i found a video of an artist drawing Psylocke, its pretty interesting the process he used...particularly when after drawing the outline he erased it then traced it over again...I didn't know they did that in comic book art. Anyway it's pretty long but here it is.

That was really cool to watch. I too was amazed when I saw him erase the outline completely. I'm the type where I just start off drawing my final draft and erase where necessary. I've tried the whole outline drawing then fill in the details but felt that it looked too messy. I'll have to try erasing the whole thing next time and leave enough markings to trace back over it.

same here I draw straight. I used to do outlines. but I tend to get messy and heavy with it. I do use outlines with Buildings and scenery though.

I tried the method of erasing everything and re-tracing it and I think I got pretty good results.
I just used my Top Graphic A-1 eraser and it didn't leave any unwanted marks. Also, it probably helps that I use a mechanical 0.5 mm lead pencil.

Hehe, ask and ye shall receive.
It's not finished yet, just mostly a contour line drawing. I've been wanting to practice more on my action scenes and it's Betsy fightning...another Betsy! As you can see, there are hardly any eraser marks and I've done a lot of it!

Hey that's not bad so far, it's already got more impact than a Land action scene!

LOL thanks! That Land fella....all I can do is hope that he eventually improves his action scenes and storytelling skills because he's not going anywhere anytime soon.
